killing a prisoner at its mercy...soldiers aren't allowed
to do that.

Capital punishment is the greatest evil ever conceived by the human mind.
No one is less entitled to kill than a government,
no one more entitled to not be killed than a helpless prisoner.
In any case,any form of non-lethal torture is preferable to execution.
