WHile it may not be established that can lies - it is clear he looks

That argument is getting tired, Thom. The way I see it, Abe married
Sarah, so which kid would she be upset that Abraham left him back at
the Rock as a sacrifice? Did they have couches back then??

That doesn't change the statement that was made by Abraham being just
plain wrong. However - the whole scenario is also wrong - from a
religious point of view

Religion states that murder is wrong. A sin.

Killing an innocent child would have been murder.

Abraham should have refused to kill his son based on that.

In addition - religion teaches that it is the devil that tempts
people to commit sin - not GOD.

So - on the mountain - Abraham should have recognized it was the
devil asking him to kill his son and should have refused to commit
the sin.

Spin - yes - but no more spin than religion uses for the same passage.
Weird tale. But it was a test, as pointless as a woman that would ask
her lover to kill for her and would end up eventually disgusted if he
does so. Abraham was supposed to even kill if God asked him to do it:
that's all God wanted to know. And many others even say _today_ that
they would do the same. The difference is that they had not been
"personally" asked by God to do this, they just think they would be.
It's a problem of bad reading comprehension :P.

WHy is the assumption that he was asked by a god? Your first assumption
should have been that only an evil thing would ask you to kill your son.
Of course - since - in a mono-theistic religion - the god is the source
of all evil - it was evil asking for the murder.
It was not a fact. It was a legend. The legend said it was God. In the
whole mysticism of Christianity, it's canon :P And we believe canon in
the book, do we?

Only a book proved as fact, or admitted as fiction. Since the desire
of murder was a test of faith, evil doesn't really apply. It's like
asking, a loved one, would you murder for me? Nothing in there says go
out and do it. god is just a little more dramatic and still made sure
to stop Abe. And maybe he asked would you, and Abe just thought he
was told you will.

The main thing is, Abraham loved his god more than his son. How badly
did that screw up Issaic?

My parents love God more than they love me. I am not screwed up (I
think). Do I love God more than my son. Sorry, God but I simply can't
even said that. It's a different kind of love, I guess.

Well, if god asked you to kill your son, would you?
