That's an excellent point! In theory, Neville could sleep with Hannah2) She did say Neville and Luna together would have been cute, butUnlike muggles, Neville can travel to London in seconds.
she also stated right away that that never happened as Luna went off
to travel around the wourld and finally married a Scamander, while
Neville stayed at Hogwarts to teach Herbology and eventually married
Hannah Abbot, landlady of the Leaky Cauldron after Tom (how that
relationship worked out it's a mistery to me, since one would have to
live up north nine months a year and the other was stuck in London...
still, many relationships work precisely because of such dynamics).
every night. Heck, he could go home for lunch!!
And, if he started workign after McGonagall retired, then he might be teh Transfigurations Teacher and Head of House of Gryffindor :D Go, Neville!
Yeah, but Hannah's not going to like that!!
I mean that there is no Wizard University where you graduate as a teacher. For example, he could have been an Herbologist and later was asked to teach Herbology. Harry was an auror but he still teaches eventually. So, he might teach but surely he did some other staff first because he was very young. That I don't understand. We do know what career Neville chose; heNeville working in a store in Diagon Alley?? Where did you ever readShe said "people would find the fact of Neville's living over a pub particularly cool." Of course, we don't know what career he chose, in the Potterverse, you don't need to be a teacher to teach in Hogwarts.
that up? Neville's career is actually the only one mentioned in canon,
so there's hardly no doubt about it (unless, again, he worked in
Diagon Alley for a while before becoming a teacher).
became a Hogwarts teacher.
Gotcha! And in the story of Tom Riddle there is good canonical
indication that students are rarely if ever made teachers immediately
after their seventh year. Which would be a sensible policy.
I did quite a lot of teaching while I was STILL IN SCHOOL, and again when I was in the military. If it weren't for the ludicrous requirements for a degree, there would be MANY great teachers still doing their thing, and I would be one of them. One of the best teachers I had in high school taught for 20 years before he got his degree. Teaching is about ability to organize knowledge, and present it in a manner suited to EACH STUDENT so that they understand the material. This is a talent, and it can't be taught at all well. It is like trying to teach a person with no talent to paint. They might learn all the technical details, but without a talent, they will be nothing more than 'technicians'.
I had a teacher in college who was only 3 years older than most of his students, and some that were younger than some of their students. I was not a problem.
