A lot of readers, including your truly, are disgruntled about
something, or many things, in the Harry Potter saga. For some of it,
it's the characterization or the fate of one or more characters; for
others, it's a storyline problem.
For example, I'll never forgive Jo for having no portrait of Snape
appear in the headmaster's office after his death, and then for
explaining this by saying it was because he had "deserted" his post.
Hey, he was as good a headmaster as it was in his power to be,
continuing to protect the children of the school to the best of his
ability (witness Ginny, Neville, and Luna's "punishment" for breaking
into his office); he only left the school because he was being
attacked by multiple people and there's no reason to think he wouldn't
have returned; and he was only gone about an hour or so before he was
killed. I think that she grasped on a lousy explanation to fulfill
her storyline desire not to complicate Harry's visit to the
headmaster's office.
Is there something you'll never forgive Jo for doing?
There is nothing I will never forgive JKR for doing - even this latest fiasco. I might take exception to some of the things she did - I might have done things differently myself - but it was not my story to tell. She created the world. She created the characters. In my opinion, based on her experience as a writer - she did an immense job wonderfully. I doubt anyone here would have done any better.
