Sure, but I DON'T agree with it. It is destructive, from a safety
standpoint.
Ron, do you *ever* put yourself in the place of the people you so
nonchalantly consign to forced sterilization and to unjust execution
and imprisonment? If it happened to you, you wouldn't be so
philosophical about it.
Maybe, or maybe not. But I long ago volunteered to put my life at risk
for higher purposes. And that without expectation of reward, or even
guarantee of success. Being willing to die for principle is something
many people just can't fathom.
Which higher purposes were that? Your´s? Or others?
Millions of soldiers have given their lives for the higher purpose
including the Germans for Hitler´s "Higher purpose". SS and SA
soldiers persecuting Jews. They, as well as handicapped, Sinti and
Roma, and a lot of other victims who had done nothing at all were put
into concentration Camps and killed. And the killers were all
convinced that it was right what they did! It was Hitler´s purpose.
Like almost all people would have done most Germans blindly followed
Hitlers ideas and purposes in the belief it was good. They proved to
be wrong.
This blind obediance and lack of own thinking lead to the death of
about 100million people, to millions of homeless , to thousands of
orphans, to endless cruelty and despair! History has been repeated
over and over since then: In Yugoslavia the Serbien people slaughtered
the Bosnian, in Cambodia a sixth of the population were killed
because they were educated or elsewise "unwanted". They were killed by
blind followers of a weird idea of a powerhungry man!
Ask the soldiers in Iraque what they are fighting for. I don´t think
they can give you a convincing answer that is based on their own
thinking.

I think you would be very much surprised at just what the answers would be.

You didn't hear, or hear of, Rush Limbaugh's comment about soldiers
who oppose the war being phony soldiers?

I avoid listening to people who go on TV with bookshelves behind them
filled with only their own books. Seems to me they are either promoting
something, or rather taken with their own opinion, to the exclusion of
other ideas.

Rush Limbaugh is taken with his own opinions to the exclusion of any
other ideas, all right, but you do realize he's is on radio, not TV,
don't you?

In any war, there are those in the military who aren't happy with either
the political aspects, or the way in which it is being run. However,
they are legally bound to NOT say anything about that, so if they do,
then they are breaking the law, as well as their oath. If that makes
them 'phony soldiers' to Rush, I can't argue with the idea.

But it's legal for them to go on TV praising the war. LOL

So, as a result, our generals and other military people can only
legally tell us the truth when they have retired or been discharged,
like Gen. Sanchez did a few days ago.

No wonder we're in the mess we're in.

None the less, Rush Limbaugh, who has never worn the uniform for a
single day, let alone been in combat, has no business calling anyone
who has a phony solider. And neither do you, Ron.


Excuse me? Rush has the same right to freedom of speech as anyone else,
and I certainly HAVE worn the uniform. So, yes, I DO have the right,
both by freedom of speech, and by service (Viet Nam Era Vet).

Obviously -- as I'm sure you very well know -- I meant no moral right,
not no legal right.
