No, the body soul survived. No horcrux is used up, they don't work
that way. The horcrux ensures the body soul cannot be destroyed, and
thus cannot pass on to the next world.
Then why bother with 7 when 4, 2 or even 1 would work as well?
Because LV is a paranoid?
Probably he was aware that at least one person might find out about
them. And he was right: RAB did and attempted to destroy one. we don't
know if he succeeded but if he did, then LV was right all along and got
sure he wouldn't be in danger if this happened because he got six more.
Why didn't LV set any intruder alarms at his Horcrux hiding places?
