Even with no further information, there are things we do know about the
charm that are obvious.

Meaning obvious only to you. As stuff you claim is clear and obvious
usually isn't to anybody else.

What it protects must be capable of being a secret. It must be a
knowledge common to only those involved in the charm(The Potters AND
Peter Pettigrew) and those who were told. That clearly eliminates things
that are common knowledge - and things that are known by a lot of
people. One could not hide the MOM for instance - or Hogwarts - unless
EVERYONE who knew where hogwarts was - was in on the secret - and you
were only preventing FUTURE people from knowing. I would imagine that
there are thousands who know where Hogwarts is.

Or they have anti FC spells. Or nobody would even want to do that.

What makes this obvious

or not

is that if that were not true - then two people
could literally hide the ENTIRE WORLD - by making a secret between
themselves - something that could not be done.

Why not? Give them a lever big enough, and a place to stand (and a
fulcrum.), and they can move the Earth.

I think more important - is either you know the secret or you don't.
Once you are told - you know the secret. You don't need a NOTE from
Dumbledore for anything else regarding the FC. When Harry first read the
note - he then knew the secret - that's it - nothing more be said. That
he needed to think about the address HAD to be because of other
Enchantments at 12 GP.

No it doesn't. he read the secret, sa wno House, then was told to
think of the secret, and only when reaching the address did the hosue
appear. If it were other enchantments, he'd have been told to just
think about 12GP. In fact, he wasn't aware of any other enchatments,
which if he eneded toa ctively break, would have been told right then
and there.

Why? Because using a note is not the normal way
of telling a secret - is it?

Maybe it is. Who are you to delcare what's normla or not for wizards?

There is no indication that anyone else was
told that way.

And no indciation nobody ever was. In fact, this might be the
preferred method for letting large groups in on the secret.

In fact, we only see one other secret being told, by Bill to Harry
about his home.
