Shoddy...? You do realize that, for all their goofing off, the
Twins know their magic, right? The only way they'd sell "shoddy
merchandise" is on purpose.
Yes, and they did: they sold "spellchecking" quills that not only
failed after a short time, everything written with them was
retroactively misspelled, even words that had been spelled
correctly in the first place without the use of the spellcheck
spell. I call that shoddy equipment, if not outright fraud,
since they weren't sold as a joke quill, they were sold as
useful equipment. I fully expected the invisibility hats
(etc) to be just as short-term.
I also thought something would be done with the daydream spells,
since those were tailor-made to be misused by villains.
