Given what we
know of Voldemort, his abandoning the MOM DE's in Azkaban (after
breaking out a bunch months before), does not lead to him wanting to
save Bellatrix. She failed as much as the others did. Perhaps to him
she was very undignified in her begging. But he saved her. Why? One
less DE failure won't hurt his organization much. But if he was using
her for his manly needs, well, there's reason to save her. Sure, he's
punishing her now without it, but he'll forgive soon enough.

Bingo! And just think how much "sucking up" she's gonna have to do to earn
his forgiveness. Hmm...I just think I found the best reason to make "evil
overlord" my career choice.

AFAIK, Bella is still married to Rodolphus and have sirius doubts that JKR
will be taking that route.
