In the first book, when Hagrid's explaining Hogwarts to Harry, he
tells him that "there's not a witch or wizard who went bad who wasn't
in Slytherin." (That would mean that every dark wizard used to be in
Slytherin.) That's not true. Wormtail was in Gryffindor. Wasn't he?
Does this mean that we can't always trust info that Hagrid gives
Harry? Also, even so, it doesn't make much sense. It's a bit too much
of a generality. What about wizards/witches who didn't go to Hogwarts,
and therefore weren't in any house? This whole thing just accured to
me and I'm actually pretty confused by it. :-) There are certain
things that people in the books have said that I've pretty much taken
as fact - usually those people are Dumbledore, Sirius, and Hagrid.
Does this mean that maybe Hagrid doesn't know what he's talking about
so much after all?
Maybe he's biased over what Voldemort did to him? Maybe he's
exaggerating. Maybe I'm missing why hundreds of fans are convinced
Hagrid can never tell a lie, but DD can.
