And after his (Voldemort's) body is regenerated in the cemetary in GoF
he tells the Death Eaters that Harry's mother gave him (Harry) an Old
Magic protection that he (Voldy) had overlooked.
But as Voldy had used Harry's blood to regenrate his (Voldy's) body,
he made an assumption that this protection had been overcome, which he
'proved' by physically touching Harry. And this leads us to the
'momentary look of triumph in Dumbledore's eye' when DD is informed of
this happening.
So, using Harry's blood, empowered by love/ancient magic, must have a
serious weakness easily exploited. Voldemort once again overlooked
something, and once again, it'll cost him his life. Only this time,
he won't have a horcrux or 2 to save him.
Unless one of his other methods kick in, but I suspect all but the
horcrux failed to make him immortal.
That's my understanding as well. If it were not for the horcruxes, he
would have been a goner at the Potter's house in Godric's Hollow.
