Are you really convinced that DD did not notice that Lupins three bestYes there was. They let WereLupin out. If they just visited, there'd
friends kept disappearing exactly by full moon? In addition it would
have been really strange if neither Hagrid nor DD noticed that always
at full moon a stag and a big black dog march over to the whomping
willow. The rat is small, nobody would notice him. But a stag?? We
have not come across very many stags on the Hogwarts grounds so far,
have we? If I look through all these arguments in this forum summing
up all the remarks what DD is said not to have realised I start
wondering what makes us so sure he is such a great wizard. As he
definately IS a great wizard and he proves to be so more than once we
can assume that he did know about the secret animagi! We all know that
he is not the one who expects everyone to follow the schoolrules.Or
has he ever given Fred and George detention? Did he ever give Hagrid
any limits? Most of the time he just seemed amused. I am sure he knew
and just didn´t do anything against it because he wanted to give Lupin
the chance to see his friends. There was nothing bad about it, was it?
be no problem. DD might even allow it simply because it'd help control
Lupin to know he has friends with him. But even Lupin admits there
were many close calls, too many, too close calls on their excursions.
DD'd have put a stop to it right away. And nobody noticed because
they weren't allowed out at night, and he'd have no reason to check
the tree, since nobody could get past it's swinging arms.
Remember, DD is not infallible, despite Harry's POV. This is one of
those things he did indeed miss, much like their map. Or Hermione's
age.
than the others in the Trio. How could the Headmaster NOT know her age?
Hogwarts has 100's if students, I doubt he keeps up with all the
birthdays. He just thinks of third years as being "about 13" much as
many of us think of college freshman as being "18".
