Sorry, but Rowling said the exact opposite on her site:

That would make 12 Grimmauld Place a rather safe place to live then, but only as long as those who had the secret lived.... But then all through the books, the thread is that magic spells wear off after a time, depending on the power of the caster of the spell...


It appears that the spell will not wear off based on what JKR said at her site.
