That would be, for me, an ideal ending. We shall see.

You do know that Lily is dead, right? Giving your life for
somebody else protects the somebody else, not the person making
the sacrifice.

Read my next to last sentence.

"That wouldc be, for me, an ideal ending." ???

or did you mean your next to next to last scentence --

"I think their love will allow her to live through it as Lily's did
for Harry." ???

Either way, confusing.

Their mutual love, and willingness to
die for eachother might give the same protection. And Lily was
killed before the attempt to kill Harry, not because she put
herself between him, and the curse.

Are you suggesting that leaping to intercept a spell meant for
somebody else renders you immune to the that spell?

I'm afraid I don't buy this "It's the thought that counts" theory.

Lily had to actually, literally sacrifice her own life in order to
grant Harry her protection. Are you suggesting that if she had only
meekly stepped aside, waited for Voldie to cast the killing curse, and
then jumped in to intercept it, she could have survived AND protected
Harry. Copout. It belittles her sacrifice, and makes surviving AK's
as easy as pie for those whose chums have good reflexes.

Just speculation, and it's JKR's world, so she can do whatever
strikes her fancy in it.

Unless it's really lame.
