Says who? He agreed to tell Harry everything, about Voldemort killing
him. Not everything about that night and the events leading up to it.
He deliberately left out Snape told Voldemort the Partial Prophecy.
And was very upset Harry learned this tidbit.

I rather suspect that Snape did have an unrequited love for Lily, and
that (her murder) was why he left Voldemort's service. We shall see.


You can suspect that if you'd like, but we have no clue. I believe by
now, Rowling would have provided us with a bit of evidence, something
stronger than "he called her an ugly name, therefore he loves her".
If you will recall, this is exactly the same argument Paws used to
ship Draco and Hermione.

Rowling said that the clues are out there in the first 6 books. If
Snape having a thing for Lily is crucial to the plot, we would have a
clue. Not a definite statement, but something a taad stronger than a
boy calling a girl a name (we only know of one occassion), and hating
the man she marries, as though he has no other reason to hate the
bully who tormented all through school and came within a wolve's
whisker of getting him killed.


At this point - the real question would remain - why did V give Lily the possibility of life? I cannot imagine that it was because of Snape.
In fact - I am puzzled by it being Snape who took some of the Prophecy to V. I would assume that Snape had already become a double agent by then - since there was precious little time to the conflict between that time and when Harry survived. Why would Snape have been expelled from hearing the whole prophecy if DD thought he was already on the side of the OOP?

In fact - I would have assumed that the reason Lily and James' went into hiding was to protect Harry based on the prophecy. That means that those involved in the secret - Wormtail and Sirius - had to have learned of the prophecy as well as Lily and James - and they would have learned the prophecy only from DD. Sirius would have known since he was to be the secret keeper but he convinced James to use Pettigrew instead. WE don't know who else DD told - but I would assume that most of the OOP now know about it - which is why they are protecting Harry.
