I thought AK doesnt leave a mark (it didnt on DD) so how was V's body
destroyed but not the soul (bit)?

That might suggest it was some other curse rather than an AK. But also,
it
was rebounding, which might change some of its properties, and also off
Harry because of his mother's love and sacrifice, so perhaps a component
of
that affected the curse.

I don't believe it was any other curse than the AK that Voldemort cast at
Harry. JKR has made the case clear through Harry's memories, Hagrid, DD,
Voldemort, and the fake Moody that it was the AK curse and Harry was the
only person ever (or at least as far back as anyone can remember) to
survive
it. That's one of the reasons Harry is so special in the wizarding world.
Yes, I know the fake Moody could be lying, DD might be just guessing
because
he wasn't there, and Voldemort didn't exactly say that he cast the AK
curse
at Harry that night, and I know there is a possibility that another curse
might have been used, but it just feels wrong because it would go against
the whole thing of baby Harry mysteriously surviving the most deadly curse
known to wizards, and why Voldemort wanted to use his blood for his
resurrection before attempting to kill him with another AK curse.

Hmm, I've always thought that it was most likely that it was an AK but
couldn't recall Dd specifically saying it was definitely an AK (he's the
only one whose word I'd take as gospel as that's part of his role, passing
on information and is therefore usually correct) hence my wondering whether
it might have been some other curse (otherwise, why hadn't Dd just talked
about an AK).

But your last point has just convinced me it probably was an AK: Harry was
so special because he survived THE killing curse; he wouldn't have had that
reputation from surviving any other. Thanks for that!
