yea, that is what she hoped, but it is ridiculous, and i dont blame Tom
Riddle for leaving her after finding out she manipulated him
I felt sympathetic towards Merope when we didn't know anything about her. After HBP, I can't feel the same. What she did was perhaps the closest thing to rape we will see in the Potterverse, I wouldn't blame Riddle either.
