So if Diary Tom was successful, what would his new body be? Would he
have created one from the contents of the CoS, or would he simply
permanently possess Ginny, in effect becoming the new Dark Lady?
SInce all that ws left was for V to gain a body - It is IMPLIED by the
memory that it would have used Ginny's life force to return again as
Young Tom Riddle. However - since there is no direct statement to that
effect - we really don't know exactly what would have happened.
Diary Tom was becoming more solid, able to hold a wand, etc. If he
had succeeded, Ginny would have died and Diary Tom would have had a
solid body that looked like he did at sixteen.
