Harry had an emotional outburst which as always, powers him up. Plus,
Harry knew Snape was blocking him. Voldiekins is supposed to be

has the scar (of whatever nature), also a connection to Voldemort. That
would make it more difficult to either to block the other, I should think.
(Frankly, if I were a teacher with telepathic ability, I'd learn how to
block fast, if only to avoid someone humming The Greatest Hits of the
Girls in his or her head, although it would be valuable at times--'ohcrap,Longbottom is going to put too many pine needles in his cauldron again' or
'Draco, if you throw one more firecracker, I really will borrow Daddy's
cane...'). But most of the time I'd be blocking like mad. I do NOT want to
know Greg Goyle's deepest fantasy in re Pansy Parkinson, _thank_ you!
Or that you've got the hots for Professor Lupin, or that Rosmerta turned you
down last night :)
Now that you said that, I wonder if Snape ever used his legimency to search and know the student's (besides Harry) insecurities to use them against them.
