Anyone ever consider...
The fact that maybe Harry isnt the chosen one, but Neville is. And the
true protection that was given to Neville was drawing attention away
from him and onto Harry. Harry already had protection from his mother
and Dumbledore, and the fact that Dumbledore took such an interest in
Harry's well being is because he felt bad for putting Harry in the
spotlight.
