Actually that leaves an obvious opening wherein Voldemort kills off
Draco Malfoy while in the process of killing off Harry Potter and Narcissa
sacrifices herself to spite Voldemort (a heavily telegraphed plot event
since Book #6).
At this point I have been mostly disappointed rather than surprised at
JKR's plotting skills and the battle scenes have been boring waffling
illogical messes. I have always hinted at much more interesting variations
of battles, but the hint has never been taken up. Book #6 was pretty much
the concluding event that indicated that Book #7 is going to be
anti-climatic illogical and boring as well. JKR is fantastic at the book
openings, great at writing the middle of the book in characterization &
settings, and yet she sucks so loudly at writing a decent ending.
Dumbledore was the reason for most of this massive suckage, but since she's
killed off her "jumping out of the illogical corner I've painted myself
into" plot device, it might decrease the odds of a horriblely lame, suckage
ending in Book #7.
She needs someone with combat planning experience to plot out her
climatic battles using the tools she's placed out, wherein she should then
adapt that into her writing style.
At this point, the ending of Book #7 is going to suck so loudly and
badly given the past endings of her previous 6 books that I'd bet money
against the selling of the seventh movie to anything but the most devoted
fanbase. I recommend her writing, "HOGWARTS: A HISTORY" for release prior
to the 7th movie for insurance reasons against the predictable sales drop
from word-of-mouth reviews when Book #7 is released much more than the
obvious filling out of time between the filming & release of the 7th movie
after the 7th book is out.
