ORCS, by Mary Gentle. Orcs and half-tracks, flamethrowers, and other Fun
Toys. Slander, Utter Slander, about halflings (ok, it's more like revealing
State Secrets. Damn the woman!). All to the tune, more or less, of the
Marine Hymn.

Severely twisted, but fun (like many of her other books, especially RATS AND
GARGOYLES).
