IIRC, one's emotional state has nothing to do with the pensieve.
Rowling stated in an interview that the memories gained from it are
*perfectly accurate* and even contain details that the subject may not
have noticed at the time (notice how far Harry can "walk away" from
Snape when in his memory)...
Now, it is true that memories can be altered, but that takes a level of
skill that Harry clearly doesn't have, and it's patently obvious anyway
(even an old professor like Slughorn could only manage a crappy "cut &
paste" that was transparent even to Harry)...
Whereas Dumbledore could probably have done a totally seamless fake memory.
Especially if he planned to only show it as a playback, and not as a
'dive in and see what's really going on'. So I'm even doubting the
completeness and accuracy of the prophecy-memory that he showed Harry.
After all, Harry never got to dive in and really check it out, even
though Dumbledore did use that method to review the memories he had
obtained about Tom Riddle's past. (Assuming they weren't changed.)
