Harry should surely not have looked into Snape's pensive, but he did
so in large part because Snape lured him in to it. Snape wanted him
to see those memories, and went to great lengths to leave them and
Harry alone together.
I don't beleive this argument because, if it was a setup then Snape
among his other talents is a fantastic actor cause I totally believed
that he was pissed when he caught Harry peeping.
Snape started it. Snape picked on Harry from the first day, because
of Snape's history and prejudices about something Harry had not even
any knowledge of.
I may be thinking of the movie and don't recall if this happenned in
the book, but wasn't Harry writing while Snape was talking leading
Snape to assume that Harry was not paying attention? I know he was
taking notes but Snape did not know that so you can just as easily say
it was a misunderstanding.
