I don't think so. Doesn't he say to Bella at Spinner's End that he
went to work for Dumbledore on Voldemort's orders? In that case, it
couldn't have been after Voldemort fell.
The timeline as I understand it is:
- Before Harry's birth (possibly before his conception?) Snape hears at
least part of the Prophecy
- Snape reports what he heard to Voldemort
- Snape learns James and Lily are targeted
- before the attack on James and Lily, Snape goes to Dumbledore and
professes repentance of his Death Eater ways; he is taken in and
becomes a teacher at Hogwarts
- Lily and James are killed and Voldemort falls
Does this not fit with the facts as presented in the books?
