the best case scenario for voldemort would be to encase a horcrux in a
10 ton block of concrete and dropit in the middle of the atlantic short
of putting one on the dark side of the moon that would be about the
most inaccesable place
also with regards to harry destroying the diary
i have given it a bit of thought and think that harry was lucky he was
not harmed when he destroyed the horcrux
the diary absorbs ink into itself so any potential liquid placed on it
will be absorbed so even the smallest poison would be absorbed(i wonder
if the toilet was clear when ginny chucked it in or that could explain
the yellow paper when harry got ahold of it)
ok back to destruction of horcrux
tom riddle was probably 90% out of the diary when it was attacked by
harry and if you watch the movie if the blast created by tom riddle was
in the diary harry might have ended up looking like dumbledores hand
,it may have been that since only a bit of tom remained in the diary it
was more susceptible to attack
