And she was in the Slug Club, and so was Snape. So she was in contact
with Snape frequently, in a social situation. No, I'm not a Snape/Lily
shipper. Lily just may have had some friendly feeling toward the other
members of the club, and maybe that was why she tried to defend Snape
just a little, and was annoyed when he reacted in a way she clearly
had not expected.
