I'm amazed that no one has factored Wormtail into this and how Jo showed us

in this book that Snape and Wormtail have somewhat of a connection insofar as Voldemort has basically assigned Pettigrew to assist Snape. Pettigrew owes a life debt to Harry. It will be Pettigrew who allows Harry the access he needs to Voldemort, either directly or indirectly and I think part of his involvement will be helping Harry get past Snape first. I don't mean to burst anyone's bubble but I didn't see the slightest bit of evidence in this book that Snape is anything but a thoroughly, incorrigibly, indefatigably evil bit of slime and after enduring five volumes of his paper-thin faade it's high time we saw his true colors. Don't mourn for him. He is what he is and he always has been.

Oh-oh forgot about Pettigrew.... oh the bit about saving Harry for Voldy thus saving Harry's life was a good thing, it's in the pauses before commiting the unbreakable vow, the hesitations that are written in the chapter 2 that had me doubting his DE status. I am still sitting on the fence with Snape, he works to his own motives.

Thanks for the bit about Wormtail though, I too believe he was the key to Voldy.

I rather think that W. and his silver hand will play apart in overcoming Fenwyr Greyback. W. does not have any backbone to stand up against V if he attacks Harry, but he might be able to find the guts to pay of some of his debt in acting against a DE.
