firewire card...

Hi, folks!
Does anybody know if an old Asus MB (A7N8X) will take a PCI firewire card?
I've been using this computer for about five years doing multitrack audio
recording using a PCI soundcard with a breakout box (M-Audio Delta 1010).
The soundcard died and I ordered a new multitrack (12 channel) soundcard
(Echo Audiofire 12) that connects to the computer using firewire. I also
ordered a PCI firewire card recommended by Echo to install in my old
computer. Of course all the stuff is ordered and on its way....so, I'm
starting to second guess myself now. Do any of you folks know if the A7N8X
will work with the PCI firewire card and the new firewire soundcard? My
computer is an AMD Athlon, 1.80 Ghz, XP2200 with a gig of ram. The old PCI
soundcard I had would record eight tracks at a time with ease.
Am I screwed? :)
Thanks!
