I am gathering information to be able to build a new computer

For anyone who has one... does the P6T have a startup option
to go to a secondary boot menu, which then allows boot from
a USB flash drive? (I have utilities on a boot USB drive)

This is like the F12 a Dell has during boot... but I want to
build my own, not buy a Dell

Thanks, John

I have a P6T Dlx, not installed yet, but there's nothing about
this in the manual. The Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 has the F12
boot device selection feature according to its manual. There's
no mention of using a USB flash drive. In the boot device
settings in BIOS, USB flash drive is not listed as one of the
optional boot devices. That doesn't mean that a USB flash
drive won't boot.

The manual for my Asus P5B Dlx manual has no mention of
booting from USB devices, yet, if I connect a USB floppy
drive, it will automatically go to it first.

Hmm... the p6t is new enough, and it will be a few months before
I am ready to spend (after I see how much back from the Irs) so
I may just have to wait until more people have one and I read a
few more hands on reviews

Since I don't see a floppy connector in the specs, I guess my
boot sequence will be Dvd-then-C drive, so I'll have to watch
and see if anyone doing a review posts that it is possible to
have the boot sequence go Dvd-then-UsbFlash-then-C drive

Booting from a Usb flash drive is certainly not an every day
event... but Spinrite runs on Dos and is the best drive check
utility I've ever found

Oh well... I just need to be patient... thansk, John

Get a USB floppy drive and set it in BIOS as first boot device.
If it's connected with a disk, the P6T will boot from it, otherwise
the MB will try the next listed boot device.
