I have checked the acual memory settings - they are as reported.
I have removed each pair.
When running with a single 2 GB pair (either pair) I have no errors - does
this mean the memory is OK and I should be looking at the mother board or
system settings?

I have 4 GB RAM total (two matched sets) -system appears to be

Motherboard is set to default, no overclocking, Memory is at 5-5-5-18
800 MHz, JEDEC standard speed.
Should I be thinking motherboard issue, memory issue or setup issue?
Have you gone into memory setup and checked the actual settings? It's
best to set the timing manually, as automatic doesn't always read the SPD
chip correctly. If timings are set properly and you still have problems,
try increasing the memory voltage a bit. My Corsair are rated at 1.9V,
but need 2.05V to run without error.
