My mic input on my A7N8X stopped working and I reloaded the driver
many times but no luck. I know this MB is old but it works great with
a AMD 2500 cpu.
I wonder if anyone else has run across this problem.
Thanks...John
If you mean the motherboard jack on the back, I think it is supposed to
sense what's attach'd and adjust..
You might need to force it to a Mic instead of letting it default to a
Speaker. I seem to remember that you get your extra speaker output from it
when it's not in Mic mode..

What about the audio setting? My M2V has a 5.1 audio chip onboard (realtek). If I set it to 5.1, I have no line-in and Mic. (these connectors are switched to rear-speakers and center- subwoofer)

Good point. Multiplexed audio jacks change definition as a function
of the output speaker setup. 2, 4, or 6 output channels changes
the definition of a three audio connector stack.
The other thing that affects the microphone, is the setting for
"front" or "back" microphone. The FP_AUDIO header has room for
a microphone connection, and the audio software will have a
hidden selection, to select mic1 or mic2. Selecting the wrong
microphone is another reason for it to fail.
