Oh, almost forgot. There are manuals on the motherboard CD. Two manuals
for Jmicron. Have a look for them ("explore" the CD). Those kind of manuals
are not typically listed on the motherboard download page, so I cannot look
at them myself.

I spoke to ASUS tech support and the message was there aren't any BIOS
settings to tweak and if the external drive is working thru the USB PORT (AND IT IS!), then the
esata port is defective and get an RMA and new board.
A pain for sure but hopefully that will solve the mysterious drive that couldn't!
