Hi! I've been reading all this interesting stuff about the 2205 bios
version of the P5W DH Asus mobo, and I have to tell you this will
maybe help me with the issue I'm going through. Hope you can help me.
I recently got Windows vista ultimate. Before I install it, I thought
it would be best to have the most recent bios version of my mobo
installed, so I won't have any compatibility issues with Vista. I
think I was wrong, for now I am unable to install vista, when I run
the installation program (directly from the DVD) the installation
fails, a vista wallpaper appears and it stays there and the system
stop responding. The weird thing is that 4 months ago I installed, in
the exactly same machine the Vista Beta version and I didn´t have any
kind of problems. The only thing I've changed since then, is my
graphic card (I had a X1950 XTX card and I recently got a 8800 GTX
card) and the bios version of my mobo.
Do you think the bios version has anything to do with my Vista
installation issues?
Thanks!
I read it and am wondering what relevance it has. Maybe you posted to the
wrong thread.
Ron
install on the Intel Raid with the BIOS installed would start crashing with
the driver updates after that only safe mode would work. ALso once installed
you can't remove it, no going back to an older BIOS as all flashes reported
a "BIOS too old, maybe it is for the wrong MB" error?
I did install the 2206, but see no changes anywhere but then I'm not running
Raid now. Sata as IDEs only.
