you could try clearing your cmos and that may clear up the error code, if
that doesn't work, when your flash objects to a older version doesn't it
give you the option to continue anyway. I dought if flashing the bios again
will fix the problem. a work around would be to go in the bios and change
the option to halt on all errors, as you say it works, it should boot and
work ok,

My P5B-E Plus has a Core2Duo E6600 SL9S8. The mobo
came with the 0304 BIOS.
Recently I started getting EHCI handoff errors when
cold-booting into Linux, and some annoying warnings
about bad checksums in ACPI tables, so I looked for
a newer BIOS, found the 0616 one, and updated to it.
However, with the 0616 BIOS I now get a "microcode update
error" at every boot, and I have to press F1 to continue.
(Apart from that, things work fine.)
Both the BIOS built-in flash utility and the DOS-based
flash utility (AFUDOS) complain if I try to flash an
older BIOS version than the 0616 I currently have.
Is there a way to force those flash utilities to accept
an older BIOS than the current one?
