Moving XP activation to new MoBo

I want to move my OEM version (not retail) XP Home software license to my
new Asus MoBo. The old MoBo will become a Linux box with all Microsoft
software removed.
Does anyone know if they will re activate it on my new system. The reason
I would give is that I am replacing my Mother Board and quite a few other
components would need replacing not giving the required 7 of 10 points
required to keep the computer activated next time it phones home to
Microsoft. Like an AGP (1 point) must be replaced with PCIE and Ethernet
(worth 3 points) would go out with the old MoBo, that there kills the 7
points required, thus it would quit working and a phone call (to a real
person) for reactivation would be required. The monitor (1 point) is the
only fingerprint component that would remain unless I moved one of the old
SATAs over before my phone call. All this is going to be a lot of work if
they will not re-activate, because all my software and data would have to be
returned to the old computer if they refused. Just how finicky will they
be???
