Gary,
The manual for the P5K on ASUS website, shows the pin-outs for the Front Panel Audio (AAFP) on page 2-35, for both the AC '97 and the HD Audio configurations. You might try downloading the most current manual if your's doesn't show it. That should help you sort things out.
