Socket 939 motherboards and CPU's are still actively on the market. Any
reputable company such as Asus would be wise not to abandon their
previous and potential customers so quickly.
Wrong answer! 939 motherboards and CPU's are EOL (End Of Line) and have
been for over a year now. There are both boards and CPU's on the market
still but that does not mean they are current technology. They are old
stock and it's doubtfull that there would be any more developement of
drivers for them.
Wrong answer!! What is with you people?! You may want to read the OP
again. Philadelphia Frank is asking "How can Asus not supply drivers for the
current OS for boards it is
actively selling?".
The correct answer is not because the boards are end of line. The correct
answer is:
ASUS HAS NO NEED TO WRITE DRIVERS FOR VISTA IF THE NECESSARY DRIVERS ARE
INCLUDED WITH VISTA!! Think about it! Why would they waste their
resources??
However, if the drivers were not included with Vista or available elsewhere,
such as the chip manufacturers website, "Asus would be wise not to abandon
their previous and potential customers so quickly", and post them on their
own website.
Get it?
