I don't disagree. It does take one to many rewrites/patches for them to get
it reasonably right, depending on OS iteration.

That was only good advice if we're talking about Windows 98.
With 2K, it took 4 service packs.
With XP, it took 2, and the second was basically a complete re-write.
With Vista, I'm thinking wait at least until 2, maybe 3 service packs,
or maybe Vista "second edition".
