Re: Seeking Graphics Card Advice for the P5B- Deluxe

Stay with the 7600GT as it is well priced and is # 25 in the list of video
cards and it does the job in Vista just fine. Mine comes with a fan.

Hello All,

I'm Looking for graphics card suggestions for my new P5B Deluxe system.
Some things I'm looking for are PCI express, Nvidia chipset, 256-512MB
DDR-2? I currently have a 19" ViewSonic CRT, but will be upgrading to a
20-22" LCD in the near future (looking for suggestions here too.) I
hope the new card will work with my existing monitor for a month or
two??

I don't play many games, mostly financial work (i.e. large spreadsheets,
databases, accounting and tax software) w/occasional photography work.
Though I'd like to be able to watch, and edit, movies and DVD's on my
new system, I'm more concerned with a clear, readable image w/small
fonts. I was hoping to find a decent graphics card for ~$150.00, or so?
Is the GeForce 7600GT a good card? What about the 7600GS or 7900GS?
Any specific brands?

Also, I will be using MS VISTA Ultimate if it matters.

Thanks,

Steven

I am in the process of getting a new system with that motherboard. The
graphics card I decided on was Gigabyte's 7600 GT. It is fanless and
got good reviews, especially compared to other fanless video cards.
