Hello Everyone, and Merry Christmas!
I have googled as far as I could for an update to the VBIOS, but I
cannot find a single download. Is the VBIOS update included with the
BIOS Firmware update? I am sure the gpu IS able to support that
resolution, as its website says so.

That GPU cannot go above 1280 x 1024, as you were shown.Actually, that GPU can go above the required resolution.
The key is the video BIOS.

Hi,
I have a SiS 661FX and I'm trying to install a BenQ FP92W Monitor,
which has a max resolution of 1440x900@60hz. For some reason, in the
control panel, I am limited to a max res of 1280x1024. Is there any
way to up this to 1440x900? Is the GPU even capable of this
resolution?
This was an issue some time ago, on other boards using this GPU, but was
fixed in most cases a few months ago, by video BIOS upgrades (part of the
motherboard BIOS). According to SiS, support for 1440*900 (the chipset
actually supports up to 1600*1200), requires their video BIOS version
2.28.00. what version is integrated with the Asus offering, I don't know.
Best Wishes
.
