Does anyone know what is going on in Asus with the A8V motherboard.

Searching froogle, sites list the board, don't say discontinued, but
don't have any in stock. The J&R site said temporarily out of stock.
Tigerdirect said 14-21 days for shipment. Excaliberpc said backorder.
I couldn't find anything saying discontinued on the ASUS web site.
Nobody else said discontinued either.
I have noted that competitors have discontinued their like, socket 939,
KT800Pro chip set motherboards.
I found one on ebay labeled "open box" where 15 bids had hit retail
price a day before the auction.
Needless to say, I can't get anything from Asus.
Does anyone know what is going on?
Is Asus still making the A8V?
Is it going to supply the back orders?
Are the boards still being made but being sucked up by a large buyer?
Is A8V such a good board that would merit backorders?
Can anyone suggest any alternative motherboards?
I need socket 939, because I have one, DDR memory, I have that too,
AGP, at least 4 PCI slots (DSP modem, second network card, sound card,
and second parallel port) and the Via K8T800 pro chip set, for
compatibility with another machine.
