The 137 gig limit only applies to IDE drives connected to an IDE port. It does not apply to non-IDE drives, or even to IDE drives connected via a port using non-IDE drivers (e.g. USB ports, ports on RAID controllers (even in non-Raid modes) that have their own drivers, etc.

Windows XP, before Service pack one could only access 137GBs, (works out to about 127GB after formatting).
Have you tried updating your Windows XP?
