Motherboard: ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe BIOS Rev 1016
CPU: Athlon 3700+ San Diego Rev E4
RAM: 2 x Kingston Hyperx 256MB DDR400 CL2 (2-3-2-6-1), 1 x Kingston
Hyperx 512MB DDR400 CL2 (2-3-2-6-1). SPDs are identical on all three
sticks. 166Mhz: 2-3-3-7; 200Mhz: 2.5-3-3-8.
With default BIOS settings the system is running the memory at DDR333
(CPU/14) at 2.5-3-3-7. Attempting to manually set the memory clock
to DDR400 results in the system beeping instead of booting.
Probably because your trying to run the 166Mhz: 2-3-3-7 stick at
200MHz (DDR400).
All three sticks are HyperX DDR400 CL2 with identical SPDs. It's just that
2 are 256MB and 1 is 512MB.
Normally "Command Rate" in the bios is set to 1T for one or two
sticks , with 4 sticks you need to set it to 2T, not sure about 3
sticks but worth a shot.
I'm not even thinking about the Command Rate. 2T is fine as long as the
system will run at DDR400, which currently it won't.
