when the mainboard doc. mentions pci bus ( got the system around aug
2004), what is it is PCI 66 just the speed but same pin out as pci
133?
what about pci 64

I am asking because I need a scsi ultra 160 lvd/se compatible
controller
for a tape drive. I used Google on pci vs. pci-x but I am still
confused

Your mainboard slots could be PCI 32 bit or 64 bit @ 33mhz or 66mhz,
or
they could be PCI-X @100mhz or even 133mhz, or they could be a mix.
Without knowing the system make/model there's little chance we're
going to guess
correctly...

thx.
unfortunately it is not asus board and no corresponding active newsgroup
for this DFI ps83-bl board

Your DFI board has five PCI slots, 32 bits each, 33 mhz. PCI v2.2
compatible.

An Adaptec 19160 or equivalent would do the trick...

great! thank you for your patience and helpful info. I found Adaptec
19610LP for in the low C$200 plus shipping
I had sent another post before I saw you post - please ignore that.

If you would like a copy of the manual for your motherboard, it's at:
