I thought I would post a warning about ASUS MyLogo3 that came with
M2N32-SLI Deluxe/WiFi motherboard. After installing this motherboard
and doing all the Windows XP Pro update I wanted the change the logo
that show up on startup.

I created a GIF 640x480 logo followed the instructions that come with
the User Guide. Everything went as per the instructions, Asus update
started MyLogo3 which inserted the picture into the bios and then the
up bios was erased, flashed and then verified. On reboot the new logo
came up and then the system hung there. The delete key has no effect
and it does not get to the floppy drive of the CD drive. (ASUS
CrashFree Bios 3 utility is useless if you can't get to it)

If anyone knows a way to get past this point in the bios please let me
know. In the meantime I have ordered a new bios chip from ASUS.

Did you try <alt-F2> and use EZflash to reflash the BIOS ?
Check out the flashing options in the manual.

Using tools like MyLogo are always risky. Now, most people
don't get burned, but I guess you did. At least now there
is a record in Google, to not use Mylogo with the M2N32-SLI.

Ideally, with tools like Mylogo, I'd want to have the BIOS
tool take a BIOS file and insert an image into that (not burn
it directly to the flash chip). Then, I'd use my hex editor,
MMtool, Awdsplit and the like, and try and determine whether
the job was done right. The size, position, and contents of
most of the modules in the BIOS should not change, so you
could look for damage to the integrity that way. Perhaps
the logo image just overwrote some other code in the BIOS.
