You can get a PCI card with a SATA controller on it. The
first one here is very cheap, but half the people who
bought it, had problems. It will either work well or
not at all.
SYBA SD-SATA150R PCI SATA Controller Card RAID 0/1 $12
This is an example of a more expensive card. This uses
a couple of Marvell PHY chips of some sort, plus what
is presumably an IDE controller. There are no reviews,
but I've used Acard products before, and they are OK.
ACARD AEC6890 PCI SATA Controller Card RAID 0/1 JBOD $37
It is either that, or use the warranty on your motherboard,
and get the motherboard repaired by Asus.
