Old Medion PC memory upgrade advice

My retired neighbour has an old (c2000) Medion PC which is running a
little slow.
I took a look and he only has 128Mb so I thought I'd help him add
memory.
The boot sequence shows this:
09/20/2000 VT694X-MED 2001
ASUS MED 2001 ACPI BIOS REV 1004
The PC says this on the label
Medion PC MT4 MED MT 37
The current memory chip says this on its label:
Mosel-Vitelic
128MB-PC133-0037-PA 2078
V436416S04VCTG-75
I found an old conversation somewhere that suggested this was a CUV4X-M
board so I got a 512Mb stick according to this spec:
http://www.fujitsu-siemens.co.uk/rl/servicesupport/techsupport/boards/Motherboards/Asus-CUV4X-M/cuv4xm-102.pdf
but it didn't work, I then noticed that this PC has only two slots not
3 so it's not a CUV4X-M but an earlier model.
I then found this:
http://www.memory4more.com/show.cgi?ID=medi9241.htm,37596168
which suggests the board only supports 256Mb max, and they do a 128Mb
chip that comes out at 47.50 EUR.
I also found this
http://www.antag.de/go/search/idx/2010100/mot/Medion_medion_mt4/t/1/go.htm
in Germany for 37 EUR plus postage.
I'll buy one of these if I have to but wondered if anyone could help me
find a UK supplier of any stick that will work, or explain why this one
did not work:
http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?QuickLinx=2LH1
Boot hung after checking the memory (and recognising 256mb).
Can I get this one to work by changing some BIOS settings? Or have I
bought the wrong one?
Thanks
