A8N-SLI Premium PSU and EZ_PLUG Questions

I have a ASUS A8N-SLI Premium motherboard which I had planned to use
with my existing power supply unit (PSU) which is a Magna ATX 600W.
1. My existing PSU has a 20 pin connector, whereas the motherboard
expects a ATX V2.0 compliant 24 pin plug. Is it generally acceptable
to use a 20 to 24 pin power converter such as
http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?TabID=1&criteria=ATX%2020%20pin%2024%20pin%20converter&ModuleNo=46201&doy=14m7
or is it better to buy a new ATX v2 compliant power supply.
2. The motherboard has an EZ_PLUG connector. What is this for, and do
I need to plug anything into it for my configuration?
3. The motherboard came with a U shaped connector (two 2cm black
connectors fixed to a 7 cm circuit board. What is this, and do I need
to plug it in somewhere?

4. Finally, both the NVDIA and Silicon Image RAID controllers support
RAID1. Is either the better (faster) choice as the manual does not
indicate this?
Specification - I have the following components:
- DVD-RW drive,
- Generic CD drive
- 4 x 160GB SATA HDDs
- XFX GeForce 6600 SLI XXX Edition 256MB DDR, PCI-E, Dual DVI, TV Out
card
Many thanks in advance for any responses. I'm learning as i build.
