Info on 1T and 2T. The guy with the Sempron2800 says that Cpuz says that

really know or understand this info but it seems to me that if it was a

toa year? The Sempron computer obviously does 1T but the Athlon64 refused
The problem has been fixed thanks to Brendan at AMD Aust. I explained theboot in it. It just has to be the CPU dying.
Yep the sempron can do 1T or 2T. The possible issue would be if the
athlon64 2800 could only run 1T. It could have worked for awhile
and then gone bad as things aged.
Just curious. I've got one of those 1T 2800's and didn't realize it
for a long time as my ram and motherboard seem to like each other.
The 2.2Ghz 754 cpu's are a good deal right now if you're looking for
a replacement. I don't think the 2.4 is worth the extra bucks.
deal to him about no chance of getting a reciept and all he said was to use
a particular local shop to check the CPU and to do the normal return to the
distributor who would have supplied the shop that went belly up. AMD will do
the serial number search to find out who the supplier isand send the details
to my local shop. I was told this could take a couple of days. There was a
fee for this check. The $45 fee is made up of $15 for freight and $30 for
testing the CPU in two different brand boards and swapping different ram in
each test just to be sure. An interesting point was that while the test
board was still on with the bad CPU in it, the young bloke could not switch
from the test board to the work computer. He had to pull the power on the
test board to get his KVM switch to switch across. I was also informed that
if that particular CPU happens to be a "grey import" then AMD is not
responsible for the warranty on those shoddy CPUs. I guess that means that
there are people out there with copies of AMD CPUs and don't know it. The
old fellow who owns the computer is pretty happy with a bill of only $45 to
get a replacement because he reckons the hundred and a bit for a cheapie
Sempron was out of the question.
